Child-delegates seen at APC congress

Minors have been spotted at the All People’s Congress’ ongoing delegates’ congress in Accra.

The congress is the maiden one for the APC to elect a flagbearer to lead the party into the November 7 polls.

Dr Hassan Ayariga, founder of the APC, is tipped to lead the party as flagbearer, being the sole contender for the position.

Class News’ reporter covering the event, Paa Kwesi Parker-Wilson, said some of the child-delegates were driven away by the police. Some stubborn one, he said, however, still lurked around the event.

It is not clear if the APC hired the minors as delegates or if they gate-crashed the event.

Ghana’s laws bar minors from taking part in political activities.
