PPP holds youth confab on June 18

Youth wing of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) will hold its maiden national youth conference in the South Dayi constituency of the Volta Region.

The conference- which is slated for Friday, June 18, 2016- is on the theme; “Winning election 2016: The Role of the Progressive Youth.”

It is aimed at sensitising and empowering the youth in PPP to engage in vigorous campaign for the party, and also to position the PPP strategically in the minds of the people of the Volta Region.

As part of activities lined up for the conference, the PPP, in a statement issued yesterday and signed by its National Youth Coordinator, Divine Nkrumah, hinted that it will use the opportunity to launch its door-to-door as well as village-to-village campaign in Peki township and its environs.

The move, according to the statement, is to cause political convulsion in the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), whiles it would position the PPP as a better alternative political force in the region.

Those expected to be in attendance, the statement said, include national officers, regional youth organisers, zonal progressive youth movement (PYM), coordinators and representative from each PYM and constituency youth organisers.
