Courtesy Call to Mr. Ivor Greenstreet

VANDALS AGAIN?
”A Courtesy Call to Mr. Ivor Greenstreet”.

The leadership of Commonwealth Hall (JCR) of the University of Ghana led by Mr.Abdulwahab Abdulai the Hall’s President paid a courtesy call on the Convention People’s Party (CPP) Presidential Candidate at his residence, East Legon earlier yesterday, 2nd June 2016.

The leadership comprising of 8 Members of which 6 were the Members of the executive council of the Junior Common Room (JCR) explained their visit, which was purposively a noble visit to leaders and aspire leaders of the state, to serve as a learning platform for them as the leaders of tomorrow and also to entreat the promotion of solidarity during and after this year’s election.

The JCR President further explained that, there has been a wider gab between the national leaders and the student leadership and as a result there has not been proper representation of the youth in governance. Mr. Abdulwahab Abdulai said it has been the dream of him and his entire executives to bridge that gap. Hence the courtesy call on the Aspiring Presidential candidate was for that purpose and to share in advocating for the selfless interest of the students in sharing their plight and promoting their general welfare.

Notwithstanding that, he also called and solicited for guidance and counselling to the leadership of the JCR of which he is leading, to promote their service to the entire JCR Members (VANDALS) and what as leaders of tomorrow the challenges they shall possibly be facing and the best positive attitude to develop in order to overcome those challenges as they climb towards the affairs of the State.

In a response to the JCR President call, the Presidential Candidate, Mr. Ivor Greenstreet appreciated the leadership for the bold step they have taken to seek guidance in their endeavors which he deem very unusual of today’s youth in leadership and therefore call on other student leaders to take suite.

Mr. Ivor also elaborated on the fact that, it is a wrong assertion that the youth are the future leaders, He said, this mischaracterization was as a results of people’s ignorant of the fact that, the youth of today are rather the present leaders, who are to cause positive changes tomorrow and own the future. He further expatiated that, youth of today should conjure their prowess to support any action that seeks to promote the course of youth in leadership of which His Party (CPP) has prioritized.

He then admonished students who are into leadership to exhibit high level of commitment, loyalty, transparency and truthfulness which to him is the backbone of true leadership.

The visitation ended with great felicitations amidst the household songs (Morale) of the VANDAL fraternity.
