Vice President leaves Accra for London

Accra, Oct.13, GNA – Vice President Alhaji Aliu Mahama left Accra on Monday night at the head of a four-man government delegation to London to the official opening of Ghana EXPO 2003 on Thursday, October 16.

A statement issued in Accra and signed by Mr. Andrew Awuni, Deputy Ministry of Information, said the exhibition was expected to market Ghana to its biggest investment and trading partner, the United Kingdom and other European Union countries.

Ghana EXPO 2003 under the theme: “The Golden Age of Business-A Reality in Ghana” is being organized by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and President’s Special Initiative.

The statement said Ghanaian products would be on display and information on business and investment opportunities in Ghana would also be made available at EXPO 2003.

It said over 300 Ghanaian and foreign-based companies have registered to participate in the exhibition.

Mr Alan Kyerematen, Minister of Trade, Industry and President’s Special Initiative, Mr Kwamena Bartels, Minister of Private Sector Development and Mr Kwesi Abeasi, Chief Executive of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre are other members of the delegation.
