Angry Atebubu women invoke curses on Asiedu Nketia, others

Some angry women of Atebubu in the Brong Ahafo Region have invoked curses on the Local Government Minister, Collins Dauda, General Secretary of the NDC Johnson Asiedu Nketia and Brong Ahafo Regional Minister, Eric Opoku.

Some assembly members in the area were also cursed.

According to the agitated women, they have reliable information that these party bigwigs are scheming to use their influence to force the confirmation of a newly nominated candidate for the position of DCE for Atebubu, at a time there’s no peace in the area.

The election is expected to take place on Tuesday.

They have invoked the powerful gods of the area to deal ruthlessly with the aforementioned personalities, should they go ahead with their plan.

The women also threatened to set ablaze offices of the District Assembly if the DEC is finally confirmed.

Efforts to reach the persons involved for the response proved futile.

Meanwhile, in the past few months, Atebubu has been in the news for the wrong reasons after the Member of Parliament, Sanja Nanja publicly insulted the Queen mother of the area, Nana Afia Donyinah.

The Atebubu Traditional Council soon after banned the MP from attending all social events in the area. The Queenmother has subsequently sued Hon. Sanja Nanja for defamation.

She’s praying the court to award damages against the defendant in the sum of GHc 500,000.
