Driver killed at Nyamebekyere

A 31- year old Commercial Bus Driver Isaac Darko is reportedly shot dead yesterday Monday around 7:pm by unknown men at Nyamebekyere on the Ejura-Nkoranza stretch in the Ashanti Region.

The deceased was shot in a 207 bus with the registration number AS 688-X when the armed robbers attacked him and some traders who were traveling from Nkoranza to Ejura market.

The body of the deceased has been deposited at the Asante Mampong mortuary.

The murder of the driver adds up to 3 deaths in a roll within a week.

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ejura Constituency Mohammed Sualisu Bamba expressed worry about increasing spate of robbery in the constituency.

In an interview with Ultimate news’ Isaac Bediako, the MP explained that

‘On Sunday there was a robbery incident at 3:am in the night, the second one was around 11:pm, and Monday as well,… actually am not happy about it, because it beats my imagination how three separate robbery incident happened along the same line that led to the death of one person, the issue of armed robbery in that area is not something new, normally it happens on Sundays and Mondays, the market women use the Nkoranza -Ejura link to their various homes when its market day,’ he bemoaned.
