Court refuses application for chief

Nkawie (Ash), Oct 8, GNA- The District court at Nkawie on Monday refused an application pleading for Nana Kusi Amankwaa Marfo, chief of Nkawie-Panin, who is standing trial for manslaughter, to enter the town. The court had banned Nana Amankwah Marfo from entering the town until further notice, seized his passport and asked him to report to the Nkawie police weekly.

Nana Marfo is on a 100 million cedis bail with two sureties for beating to death Opanin Kwadwo Manu.

The deceased lives in the same house with Nana Marfo And in July, this year, the chief gave the deceased three months notice to quit the house but before the time elapsed, the accused beat the deceased who died the following morning at the hospital.
