Cape Coast, Oct. 8 GNA- A Cape Coast circuit court presided over by Mr Kwame Essel, on Wednesday jailed a 20-year-old driver’s mate for 15 years in hard labour for defiling a five-year-old girl from Mankessim in the Central Region. Baba Yakubu pleaded guilty.
Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Samuel Addae told the court that Yakubu lived in the same house with the victim and her mother at Mankessim.
He said at about 1600 hours on October 5, this year, the victim was playing on the compound of the house when Yakubu took her into the toilet and sexually abused her
He said the victim failed to inform her mother until at about 2000 hrs when her mother detected that there was something wrong with the victim, who told narrated what Yakubu did to her.
