Young men feel blessed when Accra floods

While business persons such as traders and automobile dealers count their losses from the heavy downpour in Accra, there are others who see the rains as showers of blessing.

That’s the sense we got from a group of young men who were casting their nets for fish in the flood waters at Mallam Junction in Accra.

One of the young men, Peter Adu, told GhanaWeb.com that he and his colleagues are resident fishermen from Dansoman who move to Mallam Junction whenever it rains to fish and also catch snakes and other livestock they can sell.

“We always pray for the rains to fall,” Adu said. “If it rains we get more fishes and more money.”
