The Graphic in a front page story reports that tension is mounting between the people of Gambaga and Nalerigu in the East Mamprusi District of the Northern Region over the citing of the district assembly office complex at Gambaga. The paper says the construction of the office complex has started at Gambaga but the people of Nalerigu are not in favour of this because they feel the district assembly offices should be at Nalerigu which is the seat of the paramount chief of the area. It says as a result of this, the people of Nalerigu are preventing the people of Gambaga from entering the town on market days, and this nearly resulted in an open confrontation last Thursday. GRI
