Angry Passengers Vandalise Ghanair Facilities

Angry passengers of Ghana Airways have vandalized the airline’s offices at the Kotoka International Airport following the rescheduling of their flight the second time on Thursday

The passengers had been originally scheduled to leave Accra on Thursday morning on a Ghana Airways flight to D?sseldorf but the flight was rescheduled to 2pm.

When passengers arrived at the airport for check in procedures, they were told the flight had been pushed further back to eleven pm this evening. No official evening was given but sources at the airport told JoyNews that the flight was rescheduled again because the pilots had complained of tiredness.

The decision enraged the waiting passengers who stormed the airline’s sales and reservations office and destroyed equipment including computers and furniture running into several millions of cedis.

Ghana Airways is infamous for it’s lack of punctuality but the scenes at the airport today shocked the company’s staff.

It also brought bad news for the company’s management. Workers of Ghana Airways say they want the board of directors of the airline dissolved immediately.

A spokesman for the workers Roland Missouri told JOY News that they want the interdiction of management staff for non-performance.

The workers are due for showdown talks with their chief executive on Friday over what they feel are misfortunes caused by poor management decisions.
