Christian fellowship donates to orphanage

Touching Lives, a Christian fellowship has presented educational materials and food items worth GH? 3,000.00 to the Compassion is Love in Action (CILIA) Orphanage at Yawhima in the Sunyani Municipality.

The items comprised quantities of exercise, text and reading books, drawing boards, pencils, erasers, sketch pads, sponges, towels, foot wear, cartons of fish as well as confectioneries including biscuits, and varieties of drinks and detergents.

Mr Joseph Akongya, the leader of the fellowship said members were made up of Christian employees at the Ahafo Mine of Newmont Ghana Gold Limited at Kenyasi number two in the Asutifi North District of Brong-Ahafo Region.

He said the items were procured through individual contributions from members of the fellowship which was established to make life better for the vulnerable in the society.

Mr Akongya observed that the inmates could grow to become responsible adults if they were assisted to access quality education whiles on the other hand entreating Management of the orphanage to ensure that the inmates were brought up in godly manner.

Reverend Mrs. Charlotte Osei Kwateng, the Founder of the orphanage, thanked the fellowship for the assistance and appealed for food aid and financial support.

She said the home was established in 2006 with six inmates but grown to have 34 inmates.
