GETfund assists Afia Kobi Ampem SSS.

Trabuom (Ash), Sept 29, GNA -Mr. Sampson Kwaku Boafo, Ashanti Regional Minister, on Monday presented a 33-seater Toyota Coaster bus worth 562 million cedis to the Afia Kobi Ampem Secondary School at Trabuom in the Bosomtwe-Atwima-Kwanwoma District.

The Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETfund) donated the bus in response to an appeal the school made.

Speaking at the ceremony Mr Boafo said the government’s policy of developing one senior secondary school in each district of the country into a model school is on course

He advised the students to take opportunity of the improvement in the school to study hard to achieve their objectives.

Mrs. Victoria Dachie Annan, the Headmistress of the school, commended the GETfund for the assistance.

She said the school was able to admit only 300 qualified girls out of the 2,000 who applied for admissions into the school and appealed to the government, district assemblies and other bodies to help expand the facilities of the school to increase girls’ enrolment.
