TOPP hands over renovated primary school

Twifo Hemang (C/R), Sept. 27, GNA – Mr Billy Ghansah, Estate Manager of the Twifo Oil Palm Plantation (TOPP) Limited, on Friday, handed over a primary school block the company has renovated for the Methodist School, at Twifo-Hemang, in the Twifo-Hemang-Lower Denkyira District.

The renovation of the block, which cost 38 million cedis, was in response to an appeal by the authorities of the school. Mr Ghansah expressed the company’s commitment to assist communities in the district to improve education and health facilities and the provision of social amenities.

He said the renovation is one of the Company’s contributions towards the development of the area and expressed the hope that it would help create a congenial atmosphere for teaching and learning. Mr Ghansah advised the pupils to study hard to enable them to excel in their examination to justify the huge investment in the educational sector.

He said TOPP has erected poles valued at 55 million cedis in support of the electrification project of the Eduaben community.

Ms Regina Longdon, District Director of Education, thanked the company for the gesture and expressed the hope that parents would reciprocate by giving a top priority to the education of their children. Mr Gorman Hammond, District Co-ordinating Director, appealed to the teachers and pupils to ensure proper maintenance of the block.

Mr Daniel Koomson, head teacher, expressed gratitude to the company for the gesture and appealed for a similar assistance for the Junior Secondary School to improve the deplorable state of the building.
