The people of Juabo in the Amenfi district of the Western region are living in fear and panic over the increasing attacks of armed robbers.

According to the residents, the armed robbers have been attacking them since last month in an increased manner.

Some of the residents told Nyankonton Mu Nsem’s Tahiru Alidu they afraid for their lives because the activities of armed robbers were on the rise in the area and, therefore, need massive police visibility.

They said, they can no longer go about their daily activities for fear of being attacked or robbed.

Armed with guns and other offensive weapons, these criminals according to residents storm the community to steal their money and valuables.

“They recently shot and killed a military officer and went on to attack some Chinese nationals,” one resident told Tahiru.

The residents have also decried delays by the police in responding to their distress calls when these criminals attack them.

Assemblyman in the area, Mr. Abbey also told Tahiru, “police in the area are under-resourced making it difficult for them to deal with the attacks holistically.”
