NPP MP aspirant stops registration in C/R

New Patriotic Party’s parliamentary candidate for Cape Coast North Constituency, Barbara Asher Ayisi, has stormed the Kwaprow registration centre near the University of Cape Coast to stop the limited registration exercise, TV3 gathers.

Her campaign team claims the center was not scheduled to be part of the first phase of the exercise which started on Thursday, April 28.

Paa Kow Cole, the supervisor for the limited registration exercise for the NPP in the UCC community, told 3FM’s Sunrise Friday that the centre was scheduled for the second phase of the exercise – May 3-8.

“So we were prepared for that and concentrating on other centres only to hear that people were being bussed from Elmina and other places to come and register, that is why the people alerted us,” he said.

About 26 people were registered at the Centre yesterday, he claimed, “so we came and stopped them this morning”.

He also claimed that when the NPP got to the Kwaprow registration center, only NDC agent was there and wanted the EC to explain the anomaly.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Philomena Adusei, Central Regional EC Director told tv3network.com the issue has come to the commission’s attention.

She said officers have been dispatched to the centre to rectify any anomaly.
