A Political Party Organizer Urges Branches To Be Active

Cape Coast (Greater Accra) 5 Nov., The Central Regional youth organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Kweku Agyensam has expressed concern about the inaction of the party in some communities and called on members not to wait for headquarters before they improve the standard of living in their area. Speaking to the Ghana News Agency after an NDC regional executive meeting at Cape Coast, Mr Agyensam said the existence of the party in the communities should not be felt only during election year but at all times and urged branch ward and constituency executives to be up and doing. He said regular clean-up exercises, filling of pot-holes on streets and tree planting along the streets are some of the activities which could be done at less or no cost to improve conditions of living. The youth organiser said as part of the ”operation win election 2000” programme, the regional youth wing of the party will launch a tree planting and clean-up exercise early next year. Mr Agyensam urged the party’s members of parliament to pay regular visits to their constituencies to help organise the party and interact with the people.
