Mother blames school authority over ward’s death

Emilia Asiedu, mother of the late Patience Asiedu of Suhum Islamic Girls Senior High School who was knocked down by a car leading to her death is blaming school authorities over her ward’s death.

The deceased, 19, is said to be crossing the Accra-Kumasi Highway to meet her boyfriend to collect a mobile phone when a Kia Mini bus with registration number GR 4087-13 rammed into her, killing her on the spot.

The deceased together with her friends were at ‘prep’ when her boyfriend reportedly called her through her mate’s mobile phone to meet him, at the road side to pick her new phone.

The driver of the Kia truck, Yaw, who was on top speed from Nsawam to Suhum was arrested and is currently in the custody of the Suhum Police.

Emilia Asiedu speaking with Francis Armah Frimpong said the death of her daughter should be placed at the doorstep of the school authorities due to their negligence.

She expressed pain at her lost and wondered how her daughter managed to move out of the school at the full glare of the school authorities and security check to meet her untimely death.
