Students live in fear as land guards take over Achimota School

Students of Achimota School are living in fear following activities of land guards and other criminals on the school premises.

The activities of these land guards and criminals have extended onto other lands which belong to the school. These school lands have been encroached upon by persons who claim they acquired the lands legally.

Passionately speaking about the frustrations about the land issues, the headmistress madam Beatrice Adom said the situation has made teaching and learning difficult.

About 5 dead bodies have been found around the school lands just this academic year and such news creates an atmosphere of fear and panic on campus.

She indicated that some of these land guards wielding machetes attacked a police officer who had to be hospitalized for about six months.

The said police officer had been called in due to the activities of some of these land guards and was attacked severely.
