Sammy Awuku robbed

The National Youth Organizer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) Sammy Awuku was on Tuesday night robbed at East Legon.

The incident happened when he had gone to a restaurant in the area to buy food on his way home.

He returned with a waiter who walked him to his pickup car to find the main glass at the rear (passenger side) of the vehicle smashed and his items including iPad and other documents stolen.

Speaking to Fiifi Banson on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa FM Wednesday, Sammy Awuku stated that he then proceeded to the East Legon Police Station to report the theft, following which two police officers were detailed to go with him to the crime scene to observe the situation.

He added that he then wrote a statement and left for his home.

Sammy Awuku stated that even though this is not the first time such an incident has happened to him, he hopes this time around a positive outcome will emerge at the end of police investigations.

“I don’t want to sound pessimistic; this is the second time this incident has happened to me. In the first incident I didn’t get any meaningful response from the police, but I’m hoping that this time around something positive will come out. I don’t suspect foul play yet, but in this game of politics anything can happen” Awuku noted.
