AME Zion Creates Northern Ghana Conference

Tamale (Northern Region) 5 Nov., A North Ghana Conference of the African Methodist Episcopal (EPA) Zion Church has been created and sworn into office by the Right Reverend Warren Mattew Brown, the presiding bishop of the church. Bishop Brown explained that the purpose of creating the northern conference is to allow for effective administration and evangelisation in the northern parts of the country. The conference which opened in Tamale yesterday, is on the theme ”forging ahead with evangelism, education and service” and brought together field workers, men fellowships, lay council, Christian educationists, pastors and teachers representatives from Tamale, Bawku and Nakpaduri circuits. Bishop Brown said it is the aim of the church to improve Christian education and called for support and commitment from members of the church and the communities to make the exercise succeed. He added that the creation of the new conference is not rpt not to create a new workshop but to allow for monitoring and more participation by all in the church’s activities throughout the country.
