CPP supporters dance to usher in congress

Accra, Sept. 20 GNA- The Central Cafeteria of the University of Ghana, Legon, was on Saturday a beehive of activities as delegates and supporters of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) converged there to elect their Flag Bearer for the 2004 Presidential Elections and National Executives of the party.

Most of the supporters were clad in tee shirts in the Party’s colours of red, white and green with the pictures of the candidates embossed on them.

Some of the supporters carried the portraits of the candidates, drummed, sang and danced.

Some were seen canvassing for votes for their favoured candidates. Some of the vehicles that brought in the delegates had posters of the candidates on them.

There was a slight traffic hold up at the Legon Junction stretch of the Accra-Aburi road as supporters of the Party on motorbikes displayed. Representatives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and National Democratic Congress (NDC), also clad in their party colours were also present.
