GES boss appoints new directors

Mr. Jacob Kor, Director-General of Ghana Education Service (GES), in consultation with the Ghana Education Service Council, has appointed new divisional and regional directors of the Service.

Mr. Jacob Kor, in a letter dated March 9, 2016, appointed Mrs. Felicia Boakye-Yiadom, the Greater Accra Regional Director, as director for Curriculum Research and Development Division (CRDD), Gertrude Mensah of the Human Resource Management Division (HRMD) as Eastern Regional Director, Cynthia Bosumtwi-Sam of CRDD as Director for Basic Education and Rosetta Addison Sackey, Eastern Regional Director, now Director for School Inspection.

Others are; David Afram, Central Region; Nelson Aborigia Ayamba, Yendi District; Dr Evelyn Owusu-Oduro, Teacher Education; Judith Ofeibea Donkor, HRMD; and Beatrice Zalia Ali, Supplies and Logistics.

The rest are; Alexander Buadi to Volta Region, Patricia Ayiko to Upper West, Jane Sabina Obeng to Upper East, Enyonam Amafuga to Western, Kwadwo Osei Asibey to Brong Ahafo and Peter Attafuah to Greater Accra regions.

The Director-General, in an interview with the GNA, said the changes were not meant to punish anybody but, “A call to duty and a strategic plan to streamline the operations of the GES. The official date of the appointments was March 13th but we are giving them some few weeks to organize well and report to their new stations”.
