Four persons jailed for stealing goats

Akim Swedru (E/R), Sept 19, GNA- Four persons who stole goats belonging to victims of the Akim Oda market fire disaster were on Friday sentenced to three years imprisonment each by the Akim Swedru Circuit court.

Kojo Ofori, 22, Kwame Boadi, 28, Kwame Charway, 18, and Kweku Anarfi, 42, pleaded guilty.

Police Inspector Osei Nimo told the court that following the fire outbreak last Saturday, some thieves took advantage of the situation and looted goods belonging to traders.

He said police arrested the accused persons after investigations.
