President John Mahama has touted Ghana’s economic resilience, despite the global economic downturn.
According to Mahama, countries like Saudi Arabia and Nigeria are facing reverse economic growth unlike Ghana which is experiencing robust growth with expected growth rate at four percent.
Speaking during his tour of the Eastern region on Tuesday, he attributed Ghana’s feat to prudent economic management by his government.
Mahama, who is seeking a second term come the November 7 elections, stressed the National Democratic Congress government will continue to provide socio-economic infrastructure to improve the living standards of Ghanaians.
He assured the chiefs and people that the Apeguso to Mpakadan road as well as the Gyekete and Anum Bosso roads will be fixed.
The paramount chief of Akwamu Traditional Area, Odeneho Kwafo Akoto III, commended the government for the massive infrastructural developments in Apeguso SHS and other schools in the area.
He, however, appealed for the construction of girls’ dormitory and a Science Laboratory at Apeguso SHS.
Mahama also made a stopover at Atimpoku to address the crowd. He entreated those who have attained age 18 to register when the voters’ register is opened in order to ensure that they exercise their franchise to retain the NDC in power to continue the transformational agenda.
