Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur, in his usual way of magnanimity, has redirected that some gifts donated to him by the chiefs and people at Loho, in the Nadoli Kaleo District of the Upper West Region to the Wa Methodist School for the Blind.
During his visit to the area, the chiefs and people of the area donated the items to him as a sign of appreciation and respect.
Mr. Issahaku Nuhu Putiah, the Wa Municipal Chief Executive, presented the items to the school on behalf of the Vice President.
Receiving the items the Students expressed appreciation to the Vice President Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur for having the students at heart by donating to them.
Master Fabia Sotenga, Senior Prefect of the Wa Methodist School for the Blind expressed appreciation to Vice President Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur for donating to the school. And that said that the food and other logistics to students of the school motivated them to study.
Madam Grace Amoako, the Headmistress of the School, thanked the Vice President for showing concern for the students with the gifts.
The Vice President was in the Upper West Region recently when he launched the Revised Policy of the Community-Based Health Planning Services (CHPS) and inaugurated a Community Based Health Planning and Service CHPS Compounds CHPS compound at Loho, in the Nadoli Kaleo District of the Upper West Region.
Vice President Amissah-Arthur during the launch stated that Government was committed to removing the inequality in accessing health care that existed in the society.
In all, 64 CHPS Compounds were inaugurated and handed over to the various communities at separate ceremonies.
The 64 CHPS Compounds were constructed and equipped with a grant of JP¥ 989,000, 000 ($8.5 million) from the Japanese Government towards improving access to health facilities in the Upper West Region.
