Prison officer crashed to death at Sekondi

It was a tragic sight to behold Saturday when a prison warden was crashed to death by a vehicle around the St John’s Gate at Sekondi in the Western region.

Lance Cpl Daniel Ampnsah, 32, was declared dead at the Effia Nkwanta regional Hospital where he was rushed after the crash.

The deceased, with the Ekuase Local Prison in Sekondi, was reportedly riding a motorbike around 7pm when upon reaching a spot near the St John’s School Gate, collided with the said vehicle.

An eyewitness told Starr News’ Emmanuel Ohene Gyan that a third car ran over him after he was knocked down by the first one.

Desperate attempts by doctors and nurses at the hospital to save him proved futile.

The body has since been deposited at the Effia Nkwanta Hospital Morgue whilst investigation continues.
