The chief scribe of the ruling National Democratic Congress, Johnson Asiedu Nkekiah has admonished Ghanaians to rejoice over the deportation of the 3 South African “mercenaries imported by the New Patriotic Party to prosecute their all-die-be-die mantra.”
According to him, it saddens his heart when Ghanaians fail to see the national security threat the invitation of the ex-police officers posed to the nation and rather focus on debating on the so-called violation of the fundamental human rights of the trio.
The General Secretary alleged that the trio were invited by the NPP to train their militants in the use of arms and ammunition, manufacturing of bombs and explosives to destabilise the country hence, Ghanaians should be grateful to God for exposing the NPP.
Speaking in an interview with Kwame Tutu on Rainbow Radio, he called on the security agencies to investigate the number of young men and women that the South African mercenaries actually trained and not leave it at the 15 alleged by the NPP.
“Are you aware of the number of militants they [South Africans] had trained, what if they trained these militants in badges, can we link the increase rate in arm robbery to this training offered by the mercenaries, can we link the recent cases of contract killings to the training; are there young people in the country already trained by these men and what are they actually doing with the skills acquired,” Johnson Asiedu quizzed.
He said Ghanaians must focus on these issues because the NPP invited the mercenaries to train their militants to foment trouble and blame it on the decision of government to shelter the two Guantanamo Bay detainees.
“They invited the ex-police officers at the time they started making unnecessary noise over the Guantanamo Bay detainees to train their militants in weapon handling, so they are able to engage in violence on the blind side of Ghanaians and later blame it on President, but thank God that their evil plan was exposed.”
Johnson Asiedu Nketiah said the NPP has still not regretted their all-die-be-mantra, therefore, Ghanaians should be extremely careful of their schemes.
