Awuronsua Embarks On 100 Million Cedi Development Project

Awuronsua (Eastern Region) , 3 Nov. The people of Awuronsua have embarked on a five-year development programme estimated at 100 million cedis. The programme envisages an electrification project for the town, the construction of a three-classroomed block for the local primary school, a clinic and a two-bedroomed quarters for the local purchasing clerk. Speaking at a meeting with the chiefs. elders, assembly members and unit committee members Nana Ampem Darko the first, chief of the town announced a development levy of 20,000 cedis per chief and 10,000 cedis per elder. Resident citizens will pay 3,000 cedis and 2,000 cedis per man and woman respectively while non-residents citizens are contributing 10,000 cedis a man and 5,000 cedis a woman to support the programme. Nana Darko appealed to the district assembly for assist the town to be connected to the national electricity grid. Mr. J.A. Boateng, assembly man for Awuronsua electoral area, appealed to the people to pay their contributions promptly for the early completion of the projects. Nana Kwabena Ayisi, Krontihene of the town, asked the people to keep their environment clean and cultivate the culture of self-help.
