Teachers abandon classrooms over deplorable state of school

Academic activity has come to a halt in the Assanso Feyiase in the Bekwai Municipality of the Ashanti Region after teachers abandoned classrooms over dilapidated state of the Feyiase SDA primary school building.

Learning and teaching mostly come to a standstill in the only school which serves the community when it rains as the roof leaks.

Most of the classrooms have developed cracked floors and walls crippling education in the area.

In an interview with Ultimate news’ Abdul -Rahman, the teachers expressed fear that the reptiles can easily emerge from the cracked floors to harm pupils.

They recalled that they killed a snake in one of the classrooms some months ago when academic activity was ongoing.

However, out of a total of 9 teachers, only one of them Abigail Achiamaa is dedicated enough to go to school to teach despite this challenge.

The pupils in the school are left to play after the teacher gets tired hours into teaching a combined class for the whole school.
