Korle-Bu Staff threatens legal action over Palm’s interdiction

There are fresh troubles at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital as the Senior Staff Association fight management over the interdiction of its President Charles Offei Palm.

Mr. Palm, who has publicly accused the management of running down the facility, has been asked to step aside following a radio interview with Accra-based Class FM.

In the said interview, Mr. Palm reportedly accused the board and CEO of the hospital of mismanaging their finances, leading to a shortage of drugs and other essentials.

Starr News has learnt that the Senior Staff Association has started the process to sue management over the interdiction.

Speaking to Starr News, the interdicted union leader said the action against him is baseless .

“ My interdiction was announced on air, I heard it on the news and later I was told to go to the Human Resource department to pick up a letter. It’s a clear cut case of victimisation, my human rights have been violated by the management and I think it is very unfair to interdict somebody for speaking the truth.

“I see this move as a way by management to intimidate my association, and I can assure them that it won’t augur well for the hospital in the coming days,” he said.
