Chief of Akatekyi, a farming community in the Ahanta West district of the Western region, Nana Boza, has been arrested for failing to pay crops compensation.

The chief was nabbed by the Agona-Nkwanta Police Tuesday after he breached an arrangement to settle affected farmers and land owners whose lands were cleared to make way for the construction of the Takoradi Polytechnic Technical and Vocational Training Center.

The district chief executive for the area Joseph Dofoyena who confirmed the incident to Starr News’ Western regional correspondent Emmanuel Ohene Gyan said the chief has violated an arrangement between him and the farmers but the matter will be resolved.
