Akufo-Addo’s image battered by perception – Ephson

Pollster Ben Ephson says the image of the flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has been battered because of public perception.

Ephson contends most of the things that have worked against the largest opposition leader in his political life are based on wrong perception.

“Nana Addo is a victim of circumstances. I know him very well and that claims that Nana is arrogant is not true. Its perception that has weighed him down”

The 2016 Presidential candidate of the NPP has in an exclusive interview with Kasapa 102.3 FM on the occasion of his 72nd birthday said that the allegations that he was intolerant makes nonsense of his life.

According to him, such false claims among others were only anti Akufo-Addo propaganda targeted at destroying his political life.

On Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa FM, Ephson said the negative perceptions held against Nana Addo if not corrected will cause damage to the NPP in election 2016.

Ephson said researchers of Akufo-Addo and NPP needed to tweak their campaign ahead of the elections by adopting an innovative publicity that captures Nana Addo as an easy-going person to woo the masses.

“In the lead up to the 2012 elections, late President Mills also suffered perception issues- that Rawlings will control him when he was voted to power.

“One single act that wiped this perception away was his decision to reject the choice of the Rawlings,” Ephson argued.
