50 million cedis projects for Akim Abekoase

Akim Abekoase, Sept. 14, GNA – The newly-installed Chief of Akim Abekoase, near Akim Anyinam, Barima Akromah Acheampong, II and his people are undertaking two projects at the cost of 50 million cedis to improve the conditions in the community.

Barima Acheampong, who was speaking after his installation on Friday, mentioned the projects as the construction of a community library and the completion of the abandoned post office. He said work on the Post office had reached the lintel level. On funding, Barima Acheampong said the projects were being funded through special fund-raising activities, including a levy of 50,000 cedis a man and 30,000 cedis a woman.

He appealed to the East Akim District Assembly for assistance in cash or in kind to enable them to complete the projects. Sept. 14, 03
