The Methodist Bishop of Kumasi, the Right Reverend Christopher Nyarko Andam, has asked Ghanaians to show genuine commitment to uphold the peace as they joined the rest of the Christian world to celebrate Good Friday.
They should accept to work together in sincerity and good faith to remove suspicion and uneasiness based on political, ethnic or religious differences.
He was preaching the sermon at a special service held at the Adum Wesley Cathedral in Kumasi.
Bishop Nyarko Andam said the death of the “Messiah on the Cross” should inspire everybody to be at peace with God, themselves and their neighbors.
He called for Christians to do more to help society to overcome the violence, cruelty, vindictiveness and corrupt practices.
They should mirror Christ-like qualities of love, honesty, modesty, humility and service to humanity, he said, adding that, they were enjoined by their faith to become good example to others.
Bishop Nyarko Andam, said the significance of Christ’s death must not be lost on anybody and asked that they made sacrifices to make the society a better place to live.
Again, the occasion was an opportunity for people to forgive others of their wrongs.
Separately at the Christ Cosmopolitan Incorporated (CCI), Pastor Obed Obeng-Addai, the Superintendent Minister, entreated the people to put their trust in God and be confident about the future.
He encouraged them to remain unwavering in their faith in the face of difficulties.
The Superintendent Minister admonished Christians to pray fervently for smooth and peaceful general election, this year – devoid of violence.
