NDC will win 18 seats in Central Region – Cadres

The Young Cadres Association of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), says more than 18 parliamentary seats are safe for the party in the Central Region in the forthcoming general election.

This position was made after representatives in the Regional constituencies of the party conducted a study.

A statement signed by Mr Bright Botchway, General Secretary of the Association, noted that among the seats they are confident of winning are the Awutu Senya East, which is currently occupied by Mavis Hawa Koomson.

“Per our research as an Association, the people of the Central Region are poised to show appreciation to the President and NDC members of Parliament through massive voting for the developments brought into the region.

“Few among this numerous projects are the roads network, the first stadium in the region, Kasoa interchange, Komenda sugar factory, educational infrastructure, and health facilities,” he said.

The statement appealed to the Chief of Staff to alert the Minister of Local Government to send monitoring team to monitor the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) especially those whose term of office are over to keep them on their toes to perform satisfactorily.

It said the monitoring team should also be able to kick out non-performing MMDCEs.
