Jake’s death must reunite NPP – Dr. Tuffour

An elder of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Amoako Tuffour has expressed his deepest condolence to the family of the late former Chairman of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey who died of leukemia.

He noted that though the sadden demise of Jake is worrying – he hope that it will build ‘collapsed’ bridges in the party to form a united front ahead of the 2016 polls.

Dr. Amoako Tuffour however expressed worry that the rich experience of Jake in winning elections was not “tapped” by the youth in the NPP before his departure.

“We will work hard to acknowledge him in the coming elections. Jake reached a stage that NPP must always consult him on elections issues. We will miss him, we will miss him,” he said on NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’.

Adding that – “His death will be a unifier in the party.”

Mr Obetsebi-Lamptey died early Sunday in London after a short illness.

Mr Obetsebi-Lamptey served in various ministerial positions during the Kufuor administration and led the NPP in the 2012 general elections.
