Snake raided Ejisu Juaben communities fumigated

Personnel of the Wildlife Division of the Forestry Commission are currently fumigating a number of communities in the Ejisu Juaben Municipal Assembly of the Ashanti Region following the invasion of black snakes.

Residents who are yet to come to terms with the strange occurrence after a heavy downpour last Tuesday, indicate that they have killed more than 300 of the serpents in the area

Residents of Kwaso, Essienimpong, Deduako Onyina, and Korase have been at the mercy of the snakes compelling some of them to flee the affected communities into neighboring areas.

Officials of the wildlife division on Friday March 18, 2016, begun fumigating the affected communities and disclosed that the species of snakes found in the area though bite, were not harmful to human life.

According to them, the snakes have no venom and only came out of their hiding places following the downpour which is said to have generated some heat.
