Cape Coast, Sept 5, GNA- The Omanhene of the Oguaa Traditional Area, Osabarimba Kwesi Atta II, said on Friday that he is concerned about the apathetic attitude of the citizens towards the development of the area.
He said he was unhappy that most of the citizens do not want to attend meetings to plan development projects for the traditional area. Osabarimba Atta said this at a meeting at the Chapel Square at Cape Coast as part of the celebration of the annual ”Fetu Afahye” of the people of the area.
The festival enables citizens at home take stock of events of the previous year and make plans for the coming year.
The Omanhene told his people of plans to begin the construction of a palace at Cape Coast and appealed to his people and organisations to assist.
He expressed gratitude to Ghacem for donating 100 bags of cement towards the project.
On the perennial water crisis in the municipality, Nana Atta told the gathering of the government’s promise to find a lasting solution to the problem.
Nana Kofi Obiri Egyir II, Sanaahene of the Traditional Area, expressed concern about the apathetic attitude of the citizens. Three ‘asafo’ companies, who won a regatta, which preceded rituals to lift a month-long ban on fishing in the Fosu lagoon, were presented with prizes.
