We are not aware of demolitions in Asuoyeboah – KMA

The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has debunked allegations that it is behind the demolition exercise carried out in Asuoyeboah, Denyame and some parts of the metropolis.

Structures, containers, shops and buildings in the affected areas were last week pulled down by unknown men without prior notice to the affected persons.

Speaking to Ultimate News, the Public Relations Officer (CEO) of KMA Godwin Okumah Nyame explained that the Assembly is not aware of these demolitions.

‘Information reaching the Assembly is that the Lands Commission is behind the demolition exercise so the Assembly will contact the commission for clarification,’ he said.

He cautioned organizations to inform the Assembly before such activities are carried out.
