Ghana represents kingship – Mahama

President John Mahama has described Ghana as a nation that represents kingship.

The appellation on the West African country by its leader came minutes after it observed its 59th Independence Day anniversary.

The President earlier in his speech at the Black Star Square in Accra where a national parade was held to commemorate the event said Ghana represents excellence on the African continent.

“The name Ghana represents excellence and invokes respect in the comity of nations… we must continue to work hard together to keep that black star shining”.

After the colorful parade at the Black Star Square which saw the Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta addressing the gathering, Mr Mahama took to twitter and wrote: “We’d a very colorful Independence Parade today. ‘Ghana’ indeed represents kinship, determination & perseverance”.

The theme for this year’s celebration is “Investing in the Youth for Ghana’s Transformation.”
