Gov’t renews curfew at Bimbilla

Government has renewed the curfew hours on the Bimbilla Townships with effect from Friday March 4, 2016 on the advice of the Northern Regional Security Council.

A statement issued and signed by Mr Prosper Bani, the Minister of the Interior, said the curfew period would be between 1800 hours and 0600 hours.

The statement urged Chiefs, Opinion Leaders, Youth and people of the area to exercise restraint in the face of the challenges confronting them and to use non-violent means to channel their energies into ensuring peace in the area.

Meanwhile, there is a total ban on all persons in the Bimbilla Township and surroundings from carrying arms, ammunition, or any offensive weapons and any person found with any arms or ammunition will be arrested and prosecuted,” the statement added.
