One-touch victory not good for Ghana – Edward Mahama

Flagbearer of the People’s National Convention (PNC) Dr Edward Nasigre Mahama says he will make sure the 2016 presidential elections go into a second round.

He says Ghana’s peace stands at risk if the polls do not go into a run-off.

Speaking to TV3’s Jonathan Adams in an exclusive interview on Friday, Dr Mahama says forcing the elections into a run-off has been his campaign strategy.

“My campaign strategy is what will give Ghana peace,” he said, “and I am going to make sure we have a run-off.”

He explained that: “A run-off will prepare NPP, NDC and whoever else for a loss or win because it is my conceded opinion that a so-called one-touch is not good for the country.”

The four-time presidential candidate expressed hope of being one of the two candidates into the run-off, which he promises to win.

“I will form what I call a minority-led government,” he stated his future plans.
