NPP Is Forming Private Army – Rawlings

Ex-President Rawlings has accused the government of recruiting people into the Ghana Police Service and the Army through the backdoor and that it was creating its own army to serve its private purposes during the 2004 elections.

According to him, these attempts to recruit through the backdoor were being strongly resisted by the officers in the police and the army.

He was addressing NDC supporters who took part in a demonstration dubbed “Kafo Didi” in Kumasi yesterday.

He accused President Kufuor of allowing his brother to import rice into the country whilst the government was making efforts to stop the importation of rice. “This is the worst government we have ever seen” he shouted.
