Don Chebe exiting GBC after allegations of embezzlement

Director-General of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC), Major Albert B. Don-Chebe (Rtd.) is not going back to the state-owned entity after his leave which he took last week.

Chebe, who is under pressure from the company’s staff over claims of misuse of funds, says he isn’t making a return to GBC, Ghana’s only known state television house.

The DG, whose first term was to have expired in May 2016, has denied any wrongdoing, adding he handled GBC to the best of his ability.

A brewing storm, it has compelled the National Media Commission to step in, asking for calm ahead of a possible solution.
