Pebi: Felled tree kills 3

Three men have been crushed to death at Pebi in the Lower West Akyem District of the Eastern Region after a tree they were felling in a forest fell on them.

The incident occurred on the morning of Wednesday 24 February 2016, when the three victims entered the forest at Pebi to cut down a tree with a chainsaw.

The Asamankese Police District Commander, Superintendent Anane Appiah told Accra News the police found the bodies of Kweku Ganyo, 37; Kweku, 30; and Richard Gyasi, 36, in the forest after they had been alerted of the incident.

He surmised that the three may have been killed after the felling went wrong. Investigations are ongoing to unravel the cause of death.

The bodies have been deposited at the Asamankese Government Hospital mortuary.
