Gov’t begins dredging of River Densu in Nsawam

The Water Resources, Works and Housing Ministry has started the dredging of the Densu River to improve water supply to Nsawam and its environs.

Residents there have been struggling to access water for weeks now due to an acute water shortage. Prices of Water in Nsawam Adoagyiri have shot up by over 500 percent in response to the current crisis.

Deputy Water Resources Minister Sampson Ahi told Starr News water tankers have also been sent to the area to continue supplying water as the dredging of the polluted Densu river takes place.

Meanwhile, residents of Tamale in the Northern region and other areas in the Upper East and West regions are also facing severe water shortages.
