Chiefs in Wassa Amenfi schooled on arbitrary adjudication

Paramount Chief of Wassa Amenfi Traditional Area, Tetrete Okuamoah Sekyim II, has organised a one-day capacity building workshop for the various sub-chiefs within his jurisdiction.

The workshop was aimed at educating the chiefs on how to handle arbitrary adjudication within their various areas.

Themed; “Enhancing Adjudication and Capacity Building for Traditional Leaders,” the workshop saw about forty-eight (48) divisional chiefs in attendance.

Sensitising the chiefs, a retired Supreme Court Judge, His Lordship Stephen Alan Brobbey, underscored that the principle of adjudication started with traditional rulers before the introduction of the law courts.

Thus he urged them to have absolute control over every case that they preside on.

He also used the opportunity to advise the chiefs to refrain from active partisan politics.
This, he stressed, when adhered to would help them maintain their neutrality at all times.

For his part, Tetrete Okuamoah Sekyim II was grateful to his subjects for honouring his invitation to attend the workshop.

He entreated the chiefs to put into practice the knowledge they will gain from the event.
