Peace Council to intervene in Tafo impasse

Chairman of the Peace Council Reverend Emmanuel Asante and other members of the council are scheduled to meet the two factions in the raging feud at Tafo in Kumasi.

Prominent among the delegation is a representative of the National Chief Imam.

Meanwhile, twenty more people have been arrested in connection with the disturbances.

The suspects were arrested after they attacked a security team probing the cemetery land row.

This brings to 45 the total number of people who are in police grips over the conflict between Muslims and the indigenes.

The Chief of Army staff has also ordered the immediate arrest of the Imam for Tafo.

The clashes has led to the destruction of some churches and a mosque in the community.
