Police search for ex-Staff sergeant’s killers

The Brong-Ahafo Regional Police Command has intensified their search for the arrest of those who killed a retired Staff Sergeant, Sule Wuni, 62, at Techiman, on Friday.

Mr. Wuni was killed while on duty at the Techiman Office of Brong-Ahafo Catholic Cooperative Society for Development (BACCSOD).

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Christopher Tawiah, who is also the Brong-Ahafo Regional Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), told the Ghana News Agency in Sunyani that on February 5, Guskin Ayisopseh, a co-worker of Wuni, reported the death to the Police.

He said when Ayisopseh reached the Bank at about 0530 hours to take over from Wuni, he greeted the Wuni, who was sitting on a plastic chair, but he received no response from him,

He said Ayisopseh then realised that Wuni’s motionless head faced the security gate and when he switched on his torchlight to view his face, he saw blood oozing from the ears and some sections of the head.

ASP Tawiah said Ayisopseh quickly informed the head of Security about the incidence.

When the place was searched, he said, it was found that a pump action gun of the company meant for night guards had been stolen possibly by Wuni’s assailant.

He said the matter was reported to the Police and the body of the deceased had since been deposited at the Techiman Holy Family Catholic Hospital, pending autopsy whilst Police investigations continued.

ASP Tawiah said Police the suspected foul play because the deceased’s head was either hit with a metal or a piece of wood by the assailant.
